In the period from March to September 2020, the MEF General Secretariat has sent a large number of letters and interventions to the Government, NCT (National Coordination Team), line ministries and relevant institutions, pointing out the specific needs, problems and expectations of economic entities (in general and by sectors). Thanks to that, businessmen were regularly informed about their obligations and procedures arising from (often unclear and imprecise) measures adopted by the NCT.

In order to provide support and assistance to the economy, MEF prepared 4 position documents – Proposed measures of the MEF Management Board to support the economy based on real needs and expectations of businessmen, which contained specific solutions (general and sectoral measures) under the jurisdiction of central and local authorities. A significant number of our proposals and initiatives were included in all four packages of economic measures adopted by the Government in the period March 2020 – January 2021.

Although it was going through a difficult financial situation due to the COVID-19 crisis, the MEF wrote off the membership fee for March, April and May 2020 to its members, thus consciously giving up part of its income. In order to at least partially relax the position of its membership in the days of extreme business uncertainty, the MEF showed solidarity and confirmed that it is a sincere and true protector of the interests of the Montenegrin business community.
